No Hot Water? (Gas Water Heater)
ByNow let’s say you step into that cold shower and you have a gas water heater. The first thing to do would be to see if your pilot light is lit. If it isn’t, follow the instructions listed on your water heater to re-light.
If problems continue with your gas water heater, you will need additional repairs. You could have a loose or bad thermocouple or a defective thermostat. If your water isn’t hot enough, you may want to check the setting on the thermostat. Sediment building up in the bottom of the tank can cause slow recovery if you have not flushed out your water heater in awhile (will cover water heater flushing next time).
If you smell gas, remember to call the gas company immediately to have them check for leaks. In addition, please remember that when dealing with gas, it is important to have a qualified technician make your repairs. Proper installation and ventilation is extremely important with gas water heaters.
As with an electric water heater, if the tank is leaking from the bottom, a new water heater installation will be necessary.

I hooked this up in the kitchen sink to keep away from a 30 foot run from the primary HWH. It took about 1 hour beneath the sink and another half-hour putting in one other energy outlet. The heater works great. The 2.5 gallon provide is loads to handle dishes and hand washes. I disconnected the main supply and have not missed it.
I had a small reem scorching water heater for underneath the sink that lasted 4 years. This one was simpler to put in and heats water quicker and takes up less room (both have been 2 half of gal). It stays cooler below the sink (it’s enclosed) than the reem.
